
Nikolaus Maximilian Linaric, Chief Risk Officer of ING Germany, is a new member of the FIRM Executive Board. The general meeting of the Society for Risk Management and Regulation elected the experienced risk manager to the board on March 12, 2025.
“We are delighted to have gained an experienced practitioner in Nik Linaric, who will bring new impetus to the work of the Executive Board,” says Gerold Grasshoff, Chairman of the Executive Board of FIRM.
Linaric started his career as a lawyer in international law firms and companies and later held various management positions in risk management as well as corporate and investment banking in Germany, Austria, Italy and Central and Eastern Europe before joining ING in June 2022. As Global Head of Credit Risk, he was responsible for credit risk management and strategy for the ING Group. On April 1, 2024, he moved to ING Germany as the new Chief Risk Officer, where he is now a member of the Management Board.
On the FIRM Board, Nikolaus Maximilian Linaric succeeds Sigrid Kozmiensky, who represented ING Germany until March 2024. The FIRM Board consists of nine representatives from practice and academia and has been chaired by Gerold Grasshoff (BCG) since June 2021. His deputy is Andreas C. Heise, Deutsche Bank, the treasurer is Dr. Stefan Peiß, KfW Bankengruppe, the presidents are Prof. Dr. Rainer Klump, Goethe University Frankfurt, and Prof. Dr. Michael Grote, Frankfurt School. Other members are Prof. Dr. Tobias Berg, Goethe University Frankfurt, Stefanie Buchmann, Bankhaus Metzler, Marco Kreuter, State of Hesse, and Nikolaus Linaric, ING Germany. The managing director is Esther Baumann.
